At Darent Valley Hospital, Carillion is supporting key workers on the frontline of healthcare provision by delivering a full range of facilities management services at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.
We were also responsible for the fast-track design and construction programme, which saw Darent Valley – the first PFI procured hospital – built in just 36 months.
As part of this pioneering and award-winning development, we set new standards by embracing the Government’s New Deal programme, which enabled local unemployed people to learn new jobs on site.
This £140 million acute general hospital opened in July 2000, and we now operate it under a 25-year concession on behalf of Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust. Within this remit, Carillion Health provides full facilities management expertise, as well as a complete range of hard and soft services, covering estates, portering, catering, housekeeping, cleaning and security.
